We do everything in our power to guarantee the highest possible quality care to every patient who comes through our clinic doors. In 2012, we provided nearly 30,000 patients in the most war-torn region of Sierra Leone with life-saving healthcare.
Wellbody Alliance guarantees completely free healthcare to all civilians wounded during the country's civil war. This unique population faces extreme poverty, stigma and isolation, and Wellbody provides healthcare and poverty alleviation initiatives in amputee communities.
In addition to comprehensive clinical care for HIV patients, Wellbody Alliance's community healthworkers visit HIV patients each day in their homes, providing social support, counseling, reminders on how to take their medication and communication with Wellbody's medical staff.
Wellbody's team of primary care specialists serve up to 100 patients a day for infectious, acute and chronic medical conditions. Over 70% of Wellbody's patients receive care completely free-of-charge.
Wellbody's community healthworkers visit pregnant women and children in their homes to evaluate them for signs of illness, educate them on safe-practices, remind them to attend well-person appointments, and coordinate emergency care when needed.
1 in 20 women will die during childbirth in Sierra Leone, where even the most basic of complications can become life-threatening. Wellbody Alliance works to guarantee prompt, effective emergency care to all of its pregnant patients.
